Evaluating and Enhancing Candidate Clocking Systems for CHIME/FRB VLBI Outriggers

چکیده
Abstract As the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) has become leading instrument for detecting Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs), CHIME/FRB Outriggers will use very-long-baseline interferometry (VLBI) to localize FRBs with milliarcsecond precision. The CHIME site uses a passive hydrogen maser frequency standard in order minimize localization errors due clock delay. However, not all outrigger stations have access maser. This report presents techniques used evaluate clocks at sites without More importantly, resulting algorithm provides calibration methods that do initially meet stability requirements VLBI, thus allowing remain true goal of having

Pausible clocking-based heterogeneous systems
This paper describes a novel communication scheme, which is guaranteed to be free of synchronization failures, amongst multiple synchronous and asynchronous modules operating independently. In this scheme, communication between every pair of modules is done through an asynchronous FIFO channel; communication between a module and the FIFO is done using a request/acknowledge handshaking. Synchron...

AutoFocus Stream Processing for Single-Clocking and Multi-Clocking Semantics
We formalize the AutoFocus Semantics (a time-synchronous subset of the Focus formalism) as stream processing functions on finite and infinite message streams represented as finite/infinite lists. The formalization comprises both the conventional single-clocking semantics (uniform global clock for all components and communications channels) and its extension to multi-clocking semantics (internal...
متن کاملEvaluating candidate principal surrogate endpoints.
SUMMARY Frangakis and Rubin (2002, Biometrics 58, 21-29) proposed a new definition of a surrogate endpoint (a "principal" surrogate) based on causal effects. We introduce an estimand for evaluating a principal surrogate, the causal effect predictiveness (CEP) surface, which quantifies how well causal treatment effects on the biomarker predict causal treatment effects on the clinical endpoint. A...
متن کاملImplementing and Evaluating Candidate-Based Invariant Generation
The discovery of inductive invariants lies at the heart of static program verification. Presently, many automatic solutions to inductive invariant generation are inflexible, only applicable to certain classes of programs, or unpredictable. An automatic technique that circumvents these deficiencies to some extent is candidate-based invariant generation, whereby a large number of candidate invari...
